INITIALIZING THE TIMER:
After installing batteries for the first time, the feeder must be initialized. To initialize the feeder, proceed as follows:
1) Press and hold down the FAST push button.
2) Momentarily depress the TEST push button.
a) Note approximately 2 seconds after the release of the TEST push button all lights will turn on.
b) If all lights do not turn on, repeat the above process.
3) Release the FAST push button.
a) Note that all lights will turn off.
b) If all lights do not turn off, repeat the above process.

TIME-OF-DAY PROGRAMMING:
To initiate the time-of-day programming cycle, proceed as follows:
1) Press and hold the SET push button.
2) Momentarily depress the SELECT push button.
3) Release the SET push button.
a) Note that the Display and Clock Set LED turns on.
4) Press SELECT push button until desired HOUR is displayed.
a) Note AM/PM LED turns on in PM.
5) Press SET push button.
6) Press SELECT push button until desired MINUTE is displayed.
7) Press SET push button.
a) Note that the Display and Clock Set LED turns off.

FEED-TIME, RUN-TIME & SPEED PROGRAMMING:
The DF-05B timer is designed to permit only one feed or up to 48 feeds per day. The 48 feed times (EVENTS) may be set on the hour or half-hour.
The length of feeding and motor's speed are individually adjustable per feed time (EVENT). To program and Event, proceed as follows:
1) Press and release the SELECT push button.
a) Note the Display and Event light will turn on.
b) The Display indicates the Event to be programmed.
2) Press and release the SET push button.
a) If previously programmed, the feed time will be displayed.
b) If not previously programmed, the display will show "0F".
3) Press SELECT push button for desired feed time.
a) Note AM/PM LED is on during PM hours.
b) Feed time is in 1/2 hour steps.
c) Decimal LED turns on to indicate 1/2 hour steps (right display).
d) Note the "0F" time is located following the 11:30 PM step.
4) Press SET push button when desired feed time is displayed.
5) Press SELECT push button to select run time.
a) Time may be set in 1 second steps between 1-30 seconds.
6) Press FAST push button to Select motor speed.
a) When Fast LED is lit, motor runs fast.
b) When Fast LED is off, motor runs slower.
7) Press SET push button when desired Run Time and Speed is displayed.
a) Note the next Event number will be displayed.
b) To continue programming refer to step 2 above.
c) To end programming and turn off all LEDs refer to step 5 in following section.

REVIEW PROGRAMMING:
To initiate the review of each of the programmed EVENTS, proceed as follows:
1) Press and release the SELECT push button.
a) The Display and Event light will turn on indicating the Event to be reviewed.
b) Continue to depress the SELECT push button.
Note:The Display will show each Event programmed, plus the next unprogrammed Event, at which time the first Event will again be shown.
c) Locate the Event to be reviewed.
2) Press and release the SET push button.
a) The time of feeding for the Selected Event will be displayed.
b) Using the Select push button, update the feeding time, if desired.
3) Press and release the SET push button.
a) The length of feeding in seconds will be displayed, and motor speed will be indicated (e.g.) fast or slow.
b) Update the feeding time via use of the Select p.b.
c) Update the motor speed time via use of the Fast p.b.
4) Press and release the SET push button.
a) Note that the next EVENT will be displayed.
5) Press and release the SET push button.
a) "0ff" will be displayed.
b) Depress the SET p.b. again, note that all LEDs are off.

FEEDER SELF-TEST:
A feature is provided to allow the timer motor to be manually operated. This test will check the operation of the motor and feed distribution.
To initiate the test, proceed as follows:
1) Press and release the TEST push button.
a) Display shows "10" and starts a count down to "1".
b) User should move away from feeder before feed is dispensed.
2) Motor activates for 4 seconds.
a) Check for feed distribution.
